WINE TASTING EASY ENGLISH

Hello mates, last wine tasting was great... we had a great time and we drank excellent wines. As you know the wines had to be between 7 to 10 euros, red and spanish. People brought losts of different and interesting varieties such as; Tempranillo, Bobal, Shirah, and Garnacha.... and from different regions; Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Campo de Borja and Utiel -Requena.
We had  a selection of great cheeses such as;
-Gusthofer-goat
-Don Picón-sheep
-Comté-cow
-Montescusa- sheep

The paring went pretty good and we all had some disagreements but agreements too. The shirah had a great taste, really fruity and spicy. The Bobal was really easy to drink...a crowd pleaser, The 2007 Rioja was probably the mores complex one, with a lot of aromas and flavors that were difficult to address. The other Rioja was a 92 Parker, considered the best good value wine in the world.and the 2009 Fuentespina, that people enjoyed too. The Campo de Borja, which was a region that I personally didn´t know much about, was actually really easy to drink and with a mild finish.

The tasting lasted up to 2´5 hours, but they flew, that is probably because of the alcohol consumption hahahahahahahaha. We did a small introduction to the Spanish wine regions, with a lecture on the finest nose in the world, Parker, the wine advocate, that scores all different wines around the world, telling his readers his opinions and details about the wines he likes and dislikes.

To finish I would like to thank all the people that participated  and specially Sergio, our wine Guru, for taking some time off from his tight timetable to come and guide us in our wine tasting. He was great, as always, and we really appreciate all his help in our wine trips to the different vineyards around the world.....Thanks Sergio, you are  the best.....

Here you have some pics which I am sure they will explain better than me how much of a great time we had on Saturday.

(Who is the guy behind us?............)

P.s we are going to do a wine club...would you like to join us?

Thank you all
Sal Halpin
